Currently RAW operates over thirty state of the art spray trucks. Our spray equipment is specifically designed to accommodate various applications using computerized chemical injection systems and global positioning systems with mapping capabilities. The articulating booms on each side of the hy-rail trucks allow the operators to control and select boom sections for precise on-target applications. These booms are equipped with low-volume nozzles that reduce drift and lower the amount of chemical used (within label specifications) reducing costs and environmental impact.
The rear articulating booms used in bare ground applications are shrouded to eliminate drift. They are also designed to eliminate spraying on top of the rail, which wastes chemical and may interfere with signal crossing detectors, which is a major safety concern.
